Centered around a 20-something-year-old aspiring rapper trying to break out of her humdrum hometown in New Jersey, Fox Searchlight’s Patti Cake$ is the feel good film of 2017. As such, it captured the attention of countless movie critics and was recognized by many film festivals including, Sundance, SXSW and Cannes.
The art work to promote the film focuses on the starring actress, Danielle Macdonald, and varying overlays of scenes from the film. Colorful portraits painted by Overall Murals overpower the wall and street, attracting many onlookers, including Macdonald and her friends. This hand painted ad was also the first to adorn the Overall Murals’ wall in Silver Lake, Los Angeles. This area is especially known for its edgy hipster demographic, which creates the perfect atmosphere to promote a millennial-driven film.
