POSITION SUMMARY:

The Production Specialist owns the pre-production process for assigned mural projects from artwork intake through production readiness. Working closely with the Creative, Operations, Shop, Sales, and Ownership teams, this role ensures every project is technically accurate, visually successful, and fully prepared before entering production.

The Production Specialist independently manages artwork preparation, proofing, color management, artwork mapping, production documentation, client communication, and project coordination. They collaborate across departments to gather feedback, coordinate priorities, solve technical challenges, and develop production strategies that support successful project execution.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing creativity with technical precision and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Success requires excellent communication, strong project management skills, sound judgment, and the ability to independently solve problems while maintaining Overall Murals' high standards of quality and efficiency.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Independently manage the pre-production process for multiple mural projects from artwork intake through production readiness.

  • Serve as the primary client contact regarding artwork specifications, production requirements, file preparation, wall measurements, and technical questions.

  • Review artwork for technical accuracy, printability, scalability, and production feasibility before approval.

  • Prepare production-ready artwork files for projection, pattern making, large-format printing, and mural production.

  • Create accurate artwork mockups, production specification sheets, installation references, and project documentation.

  • Print, inspect, and mount color proofs while ensuring color accuracy and consistency throughout production.

  • Review artwork mapping completed by in-house and freelance artists, provide feedback, and approve maps before production.

  • Collaborate closely with the Creative, Operations, Shop, Sales, and Ownership teams to develop production strategies, coordinate project priorities, and ensure artwork is production-ready.

  • Lead cross-functional planning discussions, gather feedback from multiple stakeholders, and implement revisions throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Coordinate project timelines, approvals, artwork revisions, and production milestones while ensuring all departments remain informed.

  • Anticipate production challenges and proactively recommend technical and logistical solutions before they impact schedules or quality.

  • Work with artists and production staff to develop the most effective strategies for executing complex mural projects.

  • Research, develop, and test new production methods, materials, and workflows for specialty projects.

  • Help improve internal documentation, templates, workflows, and production standards to increase efficiency and collaboration across departments.

  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior production team members as needed.

Qualifications: 
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator required).

  • Experience with large-format printing and production workflows.

  • Strong knowledge of color management, proofing, and print production.

  • Excellent project management, organization, and time-management skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to independently manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.

  • Strong technical problem-solving skills.

  • Comfortable providing constructive feedback to artists and collaborating across departments.

  • Comfortable working in both an office and warehouse environment.

ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Graphic Design experience.

  • Experience in mural production, environmental graphics, signage, exhibits, scenic painting, or related industries.

  • Experience improving workflows or production processes.

  • Experience mentoring junior team members or freelancers.

  • 3–5 years of experience in pre-production, graphic production, large-format printing, or a related field.

TERMS & COMPENSATION:
  • Full-time, Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM

  • In-office / paint shop position

  • Salary: $60,000–$75,000, depending on experience
