Brief

Häagen-Dazs took its "Thät's Dazs" campaign out of the freezer aisle and onto the street with seven hand painted mural advertisements across four markets: Atlanta, New York, Chicago, and San Francisco. The idea behind each wall was the same as the one behind each pint: savor everything, big and small. Rather than one city or one flavor, the brand went wide, letting Strawberry, Coffee Almond Toffee, and Cherry Dark Chocolate each get their own moment in neighborhoods that people already treat as destinations.

Build

Every wall got the same care and a different backdrop. Poncey-Highland and Buckhead in Atlanta. Williamsburg in Brooklyn. Lincoln Park and River North in Chicago. North Beach in San Francisco. Seven site-specific paintings, each one built around a single flavor and a single line ("Savor everything, big and small," "Don't rush Cherry Dark Chocolate," "Take a Coffee Almond Toffee break"), rendered at a scale no scroll-past ad could match.

Reveal

Across the seven walls, the murals stayed up a combined 47 weeks, some for a month, some for more than two, giving each market enough time to make the piece part of its daily scenery rather than a passing install. Photography documented each one from bare wall to finished piece, giving Häagen-Dazs a library of assets to pull from well after the paint dried.

Impact

Combined, the seven murals delivered roughly 7M+ impressions across the four markets and real foot traffic in some of the most-walked, photographed blocks in each city. No two walls looked alike, but every one did the same job: turning a blank surface into a reason to stop, look up, and think about ice cream in a way a banner ad never could.
