  • New Balance, MADE IN U.S.A

New Balance < Back MADE IN U.S.A Overview Service Outdoor Advertising industry Apparel & Accessories markets Los Angeles Wall(s) 2 Walls impressions 1.2M When is being stuck in an elevator a good thing? When you’re in a street-level hand painted Overall Murals wallscape, in New Balance’s. The OM team used a curved wall in Silver Lake to make you look twice to convince yourself the elevator door isn’t about to close, which is the kind of thing we love at OM. Our paint team in Silver Lake and Beverly Grove wore New Balance shoes while painting, a tribute to a brand we admire. Wearing the shoes provides our clients with the opportunity for product placement while our team works on the walls, emphasizing the creative partnership that we have. In Silver Lake and Beverly Grove, motorists and pedestrians who passed the murals-in-progress saw our team painting in new - and somewhat paint-splattered - New Balance shoes. The curved Silver Lake wall seemed made for this wallscape, with the curve lending the hand-painted wood wall in which the elevator appears ensconced a three-dimensional feel, giving viewers the sense they could actually step into the elevator (though it’s a bit crowded, with a gentleman at the right rear of the car holding a small tree). The grain of the wood on either side and above the elevator is so realistic it seems it’d be cool and smooth to your touch; it’s almost impossible to resist putting your fingertips to it. What could be better for an ad campaign than great artwork on the perfect wall? It’s a group portrait painted with soul - in New Balance soles. If you’re in Silver Lake or Beverly Grove, run or walk to see another knockout OM mural. Like New Balance , this one’s a modern classic. Previous Next

  • FORD, MUSTANG

FORD < Back MUSTANG Overview Service Outdoor Advertising, Content Creation, Special FX industry Automotive markets Los Angeles, San Francisco, Atlanta Wall(s) 5 Walls impressions 2.56M+ No car speaks to the American spirit like the Ford Mustang , from its inception in the 1960s, the Mustang is all about style. With this in mind, Overall Murals kicked into high gear to scout artists with the skills to rev-up Ford’s iconic “pony” and show the impact of this modern classic from sea to shining sea. In 2018, Ford made key updates to the Mustang and made it completely customizable; the color, the dashboard, and even the growl of the engine can be totally personalized. The artists from our Overall Murals team kept this idea of complete customization in mind when tasked with creating two of the billboard designs; these murals truly reflect the culture of each community where a mural was featured. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zsux5-_GzM In Atlanta, artist Mister Totem designed a mural that features local flavor including the famous Vortex skull and familiar street views from the Little 5 Points neighborhood where our walldogs painted this pony into its home. Back on the west coast, one of our own painters designed a horse that brought together two great American institutions: the Mustang and the World Famous Mel’s Drive-In . Inspired by the neon facade of the renowned 50’s diner, the bright artwork caught the eyes of everyone making their way over the Golden Gate Bridge into San Francisco. Further down the coast, Ford’s in-house creative team took over Venice by bringing some horsepower to two more vibrant street-level pieces made for the Beach Cities Mustang Club and the Orange County Mustang Club . Last but not least, find the personalized pony of Heather S. of Culver City, right alongside the Venice Boardwalk, where the Mustang rides into the sunset. Previous Next

  • The High Line, DEREK FORDJOUR

The High Line < Back DEREK FORDJOUR Overview Service Public Art industry Art & Culture markets New York Wall(s) 1 Wall impressions N/A For the fourth year in a row, we returned to The High Line to hand paint a monumental public artwork, this time Backbreaker Double by Derek Fordjour , commissioned by High Line Art. Stretching across a wall adjacent to the High Line at 22nd Street, the mural depicts two Black marching band drum majors performing the iconic drum major backbend, an athletic and ceremonial salute rooted in the traditions of historically Black colleges and universities. The figures command the wall with confidence and precision, embodying pride, ritual, and showmanship. At the same time, their contorted forms sit on the edge of physical possibility, revealing the tension between spectacle, expectation, and the unseen labor behind performance. Known for work that examines power, visibility, and performance, Fordjour often draws from African American cultural traditions, pageantry, and history. His paintings and installations layer vivid color, pattern, and symbolism to explore how bodies are celebrated, scrutinized, and pushed under public gaze. Backbreaker Double continues this exploration, using repetition and scale to amplify both the beauty and the strain embedded in moments of public display. Translating that complexity to an exterior wall presented a unique challenge. Fordjour’s studio practice relies heavily on layered materials, texture, and rhythm, elements that don’t easily map onto a single painted surface. Working closely with the artist and his studio, Fordjour Studio, we developed strategies to recreate that sense of depth and movement through paint alone, carefully studying how his layers interact and how the circular forms establish tempo across the composition. Throughout the process, we collaborated hand-in-hand with High Line Art and Derek Fordjour Studio aligning on color systems, paint builds, and sequencing to ensure the final work preserved the energy, texture, and visual cadence of the original concept. Every approach, from material choices to execution methods, was reviewed and approved together, allowing the mural to stay true to Fordjour’s vision while meeting the demands of scale, durability, and public exposure. Fordjour’s vibrant palette and mirrored figures radiate unity and joy, while the mural’s scale invites viewers to slow down and sit with the complexity of what they are witnessing. Painted entirely by hand by our team over the course of a one-week installation, the work came to life in full view of the park, allowing visitors to experience the artwork as a process rather than just a finished moment. Projects like this are why we love working on The High Line year after year. The platform’s deep support for artists and commitment to ambitious public work are values we genuinely believe in. As artists ourselves, we’re proud to support fellow creatives and help translate powerful visions into enduring public experiences. Previous Next
